About Main Street Strength 

Main Street Strength is on a mission to inspire movement confidence in those whose lives depend on it. Not just for those who already know it; athletes and men and women in uniform, but in those who can't yet see that their life very much does depend on their ability to move well. The real question is, why does yours?

 

Students gain confidence by learning physical and nutritional skills, interacting 1-on-1 with coaches at every level, and being held accountable to the plan they have developed on their own.


As a StrongFirst affiliate, we provide our students with training that DIRECTLY CORRELATES with their lifestyle and desired results. Students develop skills within a curriculum to create impressive strength with kettlebell, bodyweight, and barbell training. They back it up with unmatched conditioning.

As Kinstretch instructors, students learn portable, self-guided mobility training based on Functional Range Conditioning principles. These take anywhere skills allow students to troubleshoot their own problems and create healthy, flexible, joints that can truly DO ANYTHING.

What is Movement Confidence?

 

Imagine tomorrow you wake up confident and capable in your movement. You feel stronger and leaner. You feel well rested and your day is full of new, delicious, and healthy foods. You are ready for any challenge ahead. With consistent practice, that day will be almost every day. We are here to help you discover how.

At Main Street Strength you’ll get active, regardless of what shape you’re in now. You’ll learn to eat better without dieting or depriving yourself from enjoyment. You’ll achieve goals and maintain them, even when life gets busy. All the while, this will become a part of your life without completely taking it over.

For the entirety of your membership, you will meet with your coach once a month to review the prior month’s progress and make training adjustments. Your coach will also help you explore and balance Stress and Recovery in your daily life. This is unique to Main Street Strength.

About Rachel & Patrick 

Patrick is the dedicated father of two children, Camden and Ramona, and husband to his beloved wife, Rachel. He has dedicated himself to the pursuit of health and performance for over 15 years. He began his athletic career in high school rowing, rowing single shells and learning the benefits of consistent, organized training.

He holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from Penn State and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Before opening Main Street Strength, Patrick served as a Master Instructor facilitating education for new trainers at Equinox Fitness Clubs in New York City.

When working with students, Patrick focuses on safely establishing powerful movement and dense work capacity. He uses Functional Range Conditioning and StrongFirst to provide instruction based on evidence and training principles. He believes training should support and enable a student’s physical activity outside of the gym.

Rachel is an owner of Main Street Strength alongside her husband Patrick. Kettlebell and barbell training are her strong suits. As a mother of two, she has successfully trained through both pregnancies and beyond.

Rachel was a three sport athlete growing up, and excelled as a softball pitcher at her high school in NYC. Post-college, she has competed in amatuer powerlifting meets, in which she earned first place in her weight class at each meet.

Prior to owning Main Street Strength, Rachel was a Personal Training Manager at multiple Equinox Fitness Clubs in NYC.
Her certifications include: American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM-CPT), StrongFirst Level 1, StrongFirst Lifter, Pre & Post Natal, Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist (FRCms) and Precision Nutrition-1. She holds specialty programming certifications in StrongFirst’s Plan Strong and Strong Endurance. Rachel also holds a B.A. in Theology from Boston College.
